Autumn 1

Geography

This half term, we explored the city of Liverpool in our Geography lessons. We drew maps of the city and researched the different human and physical features you can find there.

Autumn 2

Here are our knowledge organisers for this half term. 

English 

This term, we read poems from Valerie Bloom's poetry book "Hot Like Fire". We enjoyed finding out about the author and listening to videos of her reading her poems. We translated some of the poems and even rehearsed and performed them. 

Chester Zoo

We were lucky enough to be visited by Chester Zoo this term. We learned all about native animals and how to protect them. We even got to go to Chester Zoo and see the wide variety of animals they look after.

Design Technology

We have been making prototype cars this half term in DT and exploring what works well and doesn't work well with each prototype before designing our final product.

Science

In Science, we began our topic of Electricity. We predicted whether the circuits would work then tested them out by building our own. We worked well in our groups and were thrilled when we saw the bulbs light up!

Design Technology 

This term, we are adapting a biscuit recipe to our liking in DT. We began by taste testing existing biscuits. We loved this tasty experience!

History

In History, we are exploring the lives of the Anglo-Saxons. We looked at their daily life and tried their armor and weaving techniques. 

British Science Week 2026

For British Science Week, we looked at density. We mixed different amounts of sugar and water with food colouring to create various densities and layered them on top of each other. Look at the rainbows we made!

Design Technology 

In DT, we adapted a basic biscuit recipe and make our biscuits! We enjoyed baking and tasting them!
