History

Early this term, we had a visit from Miss Mean, a Victorian school teacher who taught us all about the Victorians to link with our topics from last year. 

Geography Trip

We took a trip to Liverpool as part of our Geography fieldwork. We used maps to guide us from the Albert Docks to the World Museum. We noted human and physical features and recognised some of the landmarks we had seen whilst in school such as the Liver Building and the Beatles statue.

DT

In Design Technology, we have been making slingshot cars. In pairs, we designed and made our cars using lolly sticks and glue. We attached the wheels and a paperclip using an elastic band to pull and slingshot the cars. Have a look at our designs!

Science

In Science, we completed an investigation into how distance can affect the volume of a source of sound. We used a decibel meter to record the volume and moved further away from the source. Our results showed us that the further away from the sound source we were, the quiet the volume.

CHRISTMAS

We were very excited to decorate for Christmas this year. Have a look at our class decorations! We also spent time rehearsing for the whole school nativity; we sang about the Wise Men with their camels and enjoyed putting actions to our song.

Class Worship - Trust

This term, it was Year 4's turn to rehearse and perform their class worship. This term's Christian Value is trust and we told the story of Peter and Jesus walking on water and why it is important to trust in God.

English

In English this term, we have started to read the book Krindlekrax. This week, we used the text to draw Lizard Street where the book is set. We are excited to find out where the Krindlekrax came from and whether Ruskin will have his chance to be a hero.

Science

 We haver begun our topic of Electricity in Science this term. This lesson, we made circuits and drew them out recognising that if we removed the battery, the bulb would not light.

World Book Day 2025

We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite characters! We had a lovely day of completing reading related tasks.

Design Technology

This term, we have been using our knowledge of electricity to design and assemble torches. We used a specific brief to design our torches and then built the circuits to power them. We assembled our torches using plastic bottles, tinfoil and a lot of cellotape!

English

We have been reading Pugs of the Frozen North this term and we created a freeze frame for the start of the Great North Race! Can you guess who is being each character?
