Welcome to our Home Learning area. Here you will find out what each class is learning about each half term. We will also be uploading links to the learning that is taking place each week. We will continue to upload photographs of the amazing things that go on in each class under the 'PUPILS' tab. Whole school events will continue to be shared in the 'GALLERY'.
In the event of your child having to stay at home, we have made sure that they can access learning that mirrors the learning that is taking place in class. Children will be expected to complete their set work each day. It is important that children complete this work daily, during their absence, so that they have the best opportunity to achieve their potential. We will also be sending a pack home, including an exercise book or paper, to support their written tasks when absent. Teachers will monitor the work completed at home.
Your child has been given usernames and passwords for the websites and Apps that we subscribe to, which most children know off by heart. They can be found in the pack that will be sent home. We are currently teaching the children how to access and carry out any work that needs to be completed at home. Each class has their own Home Learning Area in this section of the website. Here you will find more detailed instructions that are relevant to each year group.
There are four main resources that you will initially need to help your child access. We suggest that once you have set these up, they are saved as ‘favourites’ to help make future access more straight forward. To assist you in this process we have set up QR codes and web links that take you directly to the ‘St. John’s Portal’ for each resource. Simply scan the QR code or use the web link and then input your child’s username and password.
The information in the document below is intended to provide infromation to pupils and parents/carers about what to expect from remote education at St. John's if local restrictions require entire year groups (or bubbles) to remain at home.
